Guidelines for acquiring Driving Permit
and license:
• At
fifteen (15) years and 5 months of age, the student is allowed
to start drivers’ education classes.
• At fifteen (15) years and 6
months of age, the student is allowed to pick up the permit packet
and take the permit test; the student is also allowed to start
driving with Mom, Dad, and/or a licensed driver’s educational
instructor.
• At sixteen years of age and
still driving with a permit, the student's licensed driver has
to be 21 or older.
• In order to be eligible for
the Driver’s Test, these criteria must be met:
1. 6 Months must elapse from the
time of picking up the Permit Packet and taking the Driver's
Test
2. The student must have driven fifty hours with a parent; 10
of these hours must be in the dark.
3. The student must have participated in 24-hours of driver's
education classes.
4. The student must also have completed the 8 hours of driving
with a licensed instructor.
